The Breeders’ Cup World Championships consist of 15 Championship races with purses and awards for the two days totaling $26 Million.
The Breeders’ Cup World Championships are non-invitational; any thoroughbred competing in the world that meets the eligibility requirements may pre-enter.
Each race is limited to fourteen starters and if the race has more than 14 horses pre-enter, a field selection system is used to determine the starters for each race.
